Minnesota Timberwolves
The Minnesota Timberwolves FastBreak Foundation provides and supports hands-on programs that positively impact Minnesota youth. Through giving, education and basketball opportunities, the Foundation enables young people to make responsible decisions, contribute to their futures and experience lifelong memories.
TEAM PROGRAMS
"New Season, New Beginnings" reflects the excitement and opportunity a new NBA season brings not only to basketball enthusiast, but also the communities in which we play. In October 2009, the Timberwolves will donated a $10,000 grant, renovated a Reading and Learning Center, hosted an all-staff volunteer day and refurbished two basketball courts.
The Timberwolves FastBreak Foundation is proud to begin the eighth season of the Read to Achieve Starting Five program. During the past seven seasons, students from more than 1,000 schools in the Twin Cities area have read almost nine million pages through the Read to Achieve Starting Five program.
Each month during the 2009-10 season, the FastBreak Foundation will focus on a specific area of giving. The month will feature events, programs and a $10,000 grant to an organization that best fits the theme and fulfills the mission of the Foundation. The FastBreak Foundation will be accepting applications until September 15.
