Minneapolis/St. Paul – The Timberwolves are set to embark on the 2010 U.S. Bank/Minnesota Timberwolves Summer Caravan, which will hit the road on Tuesday, July 20 and make stops in Owatonna, Willmar and Brainerd. Wolves forward Corey Brewer and guard Ramon Sessions will headline this summer's Caravan events. Over the past 20 years, the Timberwolves Caravan has made 91 stops across Minnesota and the upper Midwest.
The U.S. Bank/Timberwolves Caravan is designed to thank Wolves fans in Minnesota for their continued support. The Caravan features an array of activities in three communities outside the Twin Cities metro area. Among the events slated for the tour are free basketball clinics that are open to the public, autograph sessions following the conclusion of the clinics, golf outings and luncheons. After the Caravan opens on July 20 in Owatonna, the tour will push on to Willmar on Wednesday, July 21 and conclude in Brainerd on Thursday, July 22.
In anticipation of the Caravan's arrival, U.S. Bank branches in Owatonna, Willmar and Brainerd will conduct a register-to-win contest for a Timberwolves autographed team basketball. Each branch in these communities will also be selling Timberwolves merchandise starting the week prior to the Caravan's appearance.
Along with Brewer and Sessions, assistant coach J. B. Bickerstaff is scheduled to participate in the Caravan. In addition, Crunch, the team's official mascot, and Timberwolves front-office staff are slated to take part. Crunch will be making special visits at various sites in each community.
Brewer, Sessions, and Bickerstaff will be available for interviews prior to and during the caravan. Please contact Dan Bell in the Timberwolves' Public Relations department at (612) 673-1603 or bell@timberwolves.com to arrange an interview.
